Ariel detergent among FMCG raising prices in India
ariel detergent In India, retail prices of Ariel detergent and other fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs) have increased 10% as the raw material costs to the consumer are rising, it was reported. Prices of many detergent brands have gone up. Procter & Gamble's Ariel detergent now costs INR122 for a one kg pack, a rise of INR6, while Hindustan Unilever's Surf Excel's price is up at INR126, costlier by INR10.It is not just the price of Ariel detergent going up: prices of several other fast-moving consumer goods have also gone up. Godrej, Wipro, Reckitt Benckiser and Hindustan Unilever have announced a hike in the prices of their soap brands. Hoshedar Press, executive director and president of Godrej Consumer Products, said: "The way the prices of raw materials are increasing, the indications are that we would need to take another price hike. We are contemplating a price hike of up to 6-8% in soaps."
